DESCRIPTION:

The mul cotton commonly known as mul mul is categorized as muslin cotton whose origin traces back to pre Indus valley civilization era. The 14th-century Sufi poet and scholar Amir Khusrau mentioned about muslin being so light that a hundred yards could pass through the eye of the needle. The speciality of the fabric is derived by the way it is weaved. Cotton fibres are separated and spun into strong threads. Amongst that the lightest and the most delicate fibres are separated which are then spun into muslin thread. Block printing of gos motifs are done on the saree.
